Prof. Crippa has spent 23 years working in the Italy academia in research, teaching, management, and consulting roles. Paolo Crippa received the Laurea degree in Electronics Engineering (summa cum laude) from the Università degli Studi di Ancona, Italy, in 1994 and the Ph.D. degree in Electronics Engineering from the Polytechnic of Bari, Italy, in 1999. From 1994 to 1999 he was Research Fellow at the Department of Electronics and Automation, Università degli Studi di Ancona where in 1999 he was appointed Research Assistant as a member of the Technical Staff. Since 2006 he has joined the Department of Information Engineering (DII), at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, as an Assistant Professor, and since February 2022, he is a Full Time Associate Professor in Electronics at the Department of Information Engineering of the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy.

His current research interests include micro and nanoelectronics, statistical integrated circuit design, statistical device modeling and simulation, mixed-signal and RF circuit design, biomedical circuits and systems, and areas of signal processing involving biomedical signals as well as coding, synthesis and automatic recognition of speech, neural networks, system identification, and fuzzy systems.

He serves as a Reviewer for several international scientific journals and conferences in the fields of electronics, signal processing, and computational intelligence.

He served as a Member of the Technical Program Committee and as a Member the International Program Committee for several international conferences, for some of which it also served as a Chair of Invited Sessions.

He is Editor-in-Chief of the “International Journal of Reconfigurable and Embedded Systems” (IAES) and of the “International Journal of Computational Intelligence Studies” (Inderscience). He is Associate Editor of the “IEEE Access” journal, and a Member of the Editorial Board of the “Mathematics” (MDPI), “Chips” (MDPI), “Foundations” (MDPI), “Mathematical Problems in Engineering” (Hindawi), and “International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering” (Hindawi) journals. He was also Guest Editor for the “Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems” (IOS Press), “Sensors” (MDPI), and “Mathematics” (MDPI) journals.

He is Member of the Advisory Board of the “Sci” (MDPI) journal.

He has published more than 120 papers in international journals, edited books, and conference proceedings.

He has been teaching the courses of “Fundamental Electronics” and “Power Electronics” at the Università Politecnica delle Marche.

He is a Senior Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and is Member of the following IEEE Societies:  IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, IEEE Electron Devices SocietyIEEE Solid-State Circuits Society, IEEE Computational Intelligence SocietyIEEE Signal Processing Society, and IEEE Power Electronics Society.

He is a Member of the AEIT (Associazione Italiana di Elettrotecnica, Elettronica, Automazione, Informatica e Telecomunicazioni) for which he served as a Secretary of the Adriatic Section (from 2008 to 2010).

Since 2007 he has been a founding member of the Academic spin-off CEDAR Solutions srl of the Università Politecnica delle Marche.
